How to open share configuration

After creating an External Share Link, you can directly configure the options in the share preview window.

  1. Share URL - The link URL to view the Jira content

  2. Share Configuration - You can set up General, Permissions, Security, Custom fields, Extensions categories

  3. Preview - By clicking the preview, you can see how changes you made and settings are applied in real-time.

  4. Send via email - It will lead you to Outlook window to send email. Check Email communication document.

Adjust issue layout : Choose a customized layout, which can be set up in global settings.

This section allows you to define what information and actions are accessible when sharing a Jira issue via a link for external viewers.

Adjust share permissions

This set of options defines what information and actions are available when sharing a Jira issue via a link . (for external viewer)

Users with access to the shared link can view existing comments, attachments, changelogs, linked issues, and sub-tasks. Linked issues and sub-tasks are displayed with details like their type, key, summary, status, and priority. Depending on the configuration, users can also add comments or attachments without needing a Jira account.Additionally, content from linked issues or sub-tasks can be shared under the same visibility rules as the main issue. If enabled, users may also change the issue status or view work logs recorded by Jira users. These options ensure flexibility in sharing and interacting with issues while maintaining control over what is visible and editable., status, changelog, approval. Also, depends on giving permission to external viewer, the person can change the issue summary, description and create an issue.

Enable password protection : It allows you to set the password and external viewers who has this password will only be able to access the external share contents

Set link expiration time: you can set link expiration date and time by clicking calendar icon.

Require SSO : you can enable corporate SSO. you can follow the SSO documentation to set up

Share with specific emails or domains: you can type specific emails or email domain if you want any email from that domain to be accessible.

Display comments with restrictions: On Jira Server comments can be restricted to role or group.
