Summary
In this release, we introduced a new setting for default comment visibility when using Jira notifications, expanded delegation support, and laid the groundwork for a future Forge-based UI with a modernized layout. We also fixed multiple issues affecting filters, email actions, delegation editing, and UI responsiveness.
New Features
Default comment visibility for Jira notifications NEW
You can now set the default visibility of comments (Public or Internal) when the notification mechanism is set to Jira notifications.
The default is Public, but this can be set to Internal per approval definition
Behavior is configurable per definition and overridable in issue-level parameterization
Improvements
Improved delegation support and visibility IMPROVED
Delegations now fully support the Group and Vote steps
Delegated approvals are visible in the Approvals list
Forge UI migration: new header and sidebar layout IMPROVED
We’ve prepared a React-based proof of concept for migrating the app UI to a future Atlassian Forge app.
Built using Atlassian Design System components
Designed for consistency with the Atlassian Cloud interface
Implements foundational elements like global and user preferences views
Includes a new left-side navigation menu with responsive behavior
Bug Fixes
Internal users redirected incorrectly from quick-action emails FIXED
Fixed an issue where internal users clicking “Approve” or “Reject” in call-to-action emails were redirected to the external user dashboard instead of Jira. Internal users are now routed directly to Jira, and their decisions are properly recorded.
Admins unable to save filters FIXED
We had an issue where admins couldn’t save filters. Now, filters can be saved as expected.
Global Admins blocked from creating definitions at the project level FIXED
Resolved an issue where the Create button was missing in the Project View > Definitions tab when the “Project page Jira Permission Scheme” was enabled.
Groups removed from Delegations when editing FIXED
Editing an existing Delegation no longer removes previously assigned groups.
Action submitted without comment, even when required FIXED
Resolved an issue where users could approve/reject directly from email without entering a required comment, violating the approval definition settings.
Delegate Details button issues in different browsers FIXED
The Delegate Details button failed to open or displayed an empty/cut-off screen. Now behaves correctly across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Fixed 'Expression’ field in Conditions tab FIXED
The Expression input field in Conditions is no longer squashed when creating or editing. It resizes correctly without needing manual adjustment.
Clickable area of buttons shrinks in narrow views FIXED
The Archive and Delete buttons for completed approvals are now fully clickable even when the widget is narrow.
Fixed UI misalignment in specific widget widths FIXED
We have fixed a layout issue where the Filter results and Manage approvals buttons became misaligned at certain widget widths.
