User step

Action Types

Initiating a single user decision step sends a notification to the user to take action. The user can click the 'accept' and 'reject' buttons on the Jira issue page.

It's important to note that once a decision is made, it remains final, and the only way to roll it back is to delete the current approval and start a new one. Only a user with appropriate permissions can delete or archive approval.

Notification action

For users not involved in decision-making but interested in progress or outcomes, a notification function keeps them informed. This proves beneficial for example:

  1. At the start of the approval process, notify stakeholders about new initiatives within the company.

  2. As the final step, alert the team leader when approval is granted for access to new hardware.

Issue watchers notification

This feature gives an effective way to update notifications for approval paths sent to issue watchers. It grants the user the ability to prevent unnecessary notifications, enhancing overall communication efficiency.

Create step condition

To implement a specific step into the approval process based on a predefined condition in a Jira expression, use the 'Create Step Condition' feature. Once a condition from Jira Expressions is selected, the step becomes part of the approval workflow only when the condition is met.

If the condition is not fulfilled or encounters an error, the step is excluded from the approval process. Refer to our documentation for comprehensive details on conditions.
