This release introduces key new features and enhancements that improve collaboration, customization, and user visibility. New Features
Private attachments for external users NEW
Added a setting in space configuration that allows external users to upload private attachments.
All attachments, including private ones, remain visible in Confluence.
Confluence folder sharing NEW
You can now share Confluence folders through External Share.
The Page Tree macro properly displays folders
Expand/Collapse actions work correctly after previous issues were resolved
Improvements
Redesigned navigation menu IMPROVED
Redesigned the navigation menu to appear on the left side of the screen, aligning with the layout used in Atlassian UIs. The new menu supports collapsing and expanding, with a hover-to-reveal feature when collapsed. This update applies to both space-level and global-level views, enhancing consistency and usability across the app.
Improved comments in version history IMPROVED
When an external user edits a page or blog post, a system-generated comment now appears in both the Confluence version history and the shared page history (if history view is enabled).
Logged-in external users show their name and email
Logged-out users appear as “Updated by external user”
The comment is automatically added whenever content is updated
Applies to both pages and blog posts
Support for Jira macro IMPROVED
External Share now supports URLs copied from Jira's “All Work” tab.
No matter the share’s display mode (inline, card, embed), the full list of work items will render correctly.
Refer to the guide: Integration with Jira Macros
Improved Page Customization IMPROVED
Footer and header links can now be grouped for better organization
Restored the missing Font Size and Font Weight options under Footer Links Hover
Added tooltips next to each default component in Page Customization
Full support for Dark Mode
Correct rendering of custom headers, links, and buttons
Reliable behavior for user-added header links
Search for pages without a specific label IMPROVED
Users can now filter shared pages by excluding specific labels, in addition to the existing label match.
Refined 'Hide all default links' behavior IMPROVED
The 'Hide all default links' setting now only hides the Dashboard and Settings buttons, as originally intended.
Fallback to last page modifier IMPROVED
The system now falls back to saving updates using the last Confluence user who modified the share configuration. This helps ensure reliable updates even when permission issues occur.
Bug Fixes
Fixed SAML SSO login issues FIXED
We fixed a redirect loop issue that could occur when logging in with SAML SSO using Microsoft Azure. The issue no longer appears across affected instances, and login works reliably with various SSO settings at both global and space levels.
Fixed header link styling in groups and 'More' section FIXED
Fixed an issue where header links placed inside groups or the ‘More’ section displayed using the default font size instead of the proper header link size. Additionally, hover effects have been corrected to prevent inconsistent font scaling when large size differences exist.
Page Tree rendering on shared pages FIXED
On shared pages, Page Tree elements with collapsible buttons were missing indicators for the top-level sub-pages. This has been fixed.
Fixed image scaling when page title is hidden FIXED
Resolved an issue where resized images reverted to their original size in a shared page when the ‘Show page titles’ option was disabled.
Image dimensions now display correctly in External Share
Behavior is consistent with how the image appears in Confluence
