Summary

In this release, we introduced Redirect Shares for managing outdated links, enabled Invite to Subscribe for all share types, and added time tracking directly in shared issues. We also improved SSO configuration flexibility, updated the filter settings UI, and resolved several interface, layout, and permission-related issues. These updates enhance usability, compatibility, and administrative control across External Share for Jira.

New Features

Introduced Redirect Share NEW

You can now create Redirect Shares to point users to a new URL when a share becomes obsolete or is no longer valid. Redirect Shares support all the same options as regular shares, including:

• Password protection

• Expiration time

• SSO authentication

• View and access tracking

The "Invite to Subscribe" feature is now available not only for Issue Shares but also for Board, Timeline, and Filter shares.

• Send one-time invite links to external users

• Users are automatically subscribed after accessing the share

Users can now log time directly within an external share, just like in native Jira.

We’ve improved the SSO configuration.

• SSO can be set as optional at the global or project level

• On each share, users can manually enable SSO and select a preferred configuration

• Supported providers are shown on login when required

Revamped filter settings UI IMPROVED

The Filter Configuration tab is now Filter Settings, with improved UX.

Bug Fixes

Fixed incorrect Start Date display in Timeline Share FIXED

An issue was resolved where tickets with valid Start and Due Dates would only show the end of the timeline duration, and display "NO START DATE" on hover.
Now:

• Timeline bars span the full duration between Start and Due Dates

• Hover tooltips correctly show both dates

Fixed white space issue in Firefox FIXED

Users in Firefox previously experienced a persistent white space covering parts of the External Share interface when the window was maximized or full screen. This issue has been fixed.

Custom links hidden in Board shares FIXED

Custom header links are now fully visible, even when more than three are configured in Board Shares.

Dropdown and search fields not working during issue creation FIXED

When Issue Creation was enabled in the share config, dropdowns and search fields stopped responding. These controls now work as expected.

Fixed null error after removing custom field FIXED

Fixed a bug where deleting a custom field in Jira caused a crash in External Share if that field was used in a share config.

Description not editable in Timeline share issue creation FIXED

In Timeline shares, the Description field was not editable during issue creation. This has been fixed.

Ticket creation option missing in Board Shares FIXED

The ability to create new issues from Board Shares has been restored.

Fix Versions field not available in Board Card Layout FIXED

The system field ‘Fix Versions’ can now be added in Board Card Settings > Board Card Layout.

Subtasks are editable even after access is revoked FIXED

Fixed an issue where users could continue editing a shared issue after their access was revoked. Now, changes are blocked immediately.

Action Items prevent saving edits FIXED

Editing tickets containing Action Items in the description now saves as expected.

Security settings block user picker field edits FIXED

User picker fields can now be cleared or modified even if disallowed users are present, depending on the current security settings.

Checklist field missing in shared issues FIXED

Fixed a display issue for Issue Checklist fields on shared pages.

Invalid link error for subtasks in filtered Board Shares FIXED

Subtasks excluded by the share filter no longer cause errors when viewed. The system now handles these cases gracefully.

Filtering not working in Voting section FIXED

Resolved a bug where applying custom field filters in the Voting section did not return any results.

Issue layouts not applied in team-managed projects FIXED

Issue layouts now apply correctly when mapped to issue types in team-managed projects, matching the behavior in company-managed projects.
