Activities

Keep track of actions

Internal users can monitor actions related to issues in Jira, including:

  • Visits

  • Additions

  • Edits

  • Updates

  • Deletion

  • Status change

The following details are logged for each action:

  • Issue link

  • Source

    • Comment

    • Attachment

    • Issue

    • Board

  • Action

  • User

  • User email

  • Date

  • External user IP address (Project and Global activity lists only)

Visits

  • Internal users can track access to issues.

Additions

  • Internal users can monitor added comments and attachments to issues.

Edits

  • Internal users can see external user attempts to edit issue content, even if changes are not published.

Updates

  • Internal users can monitor external user updates to issue content.

Deletion

  • Internal users can monitor deletions of external user comments (note: external users can only delete their own comments).

Status Change

  • Internal users can monitor any changes to the Status of the issue

User types

Two types of external users are logged on the issue activity list:

  1. Authenticated users with a username

  2. Anonymous users (access may vary depending on security configuration)

Authenticated users

Any external user that is logged in to Jira, these users have a username.

Anonymous users

Any external user with access to the issue, any activity on the issue is logged even if the user is not logged in to External Share. Depending on the project's security configuration, anonymous users may or may not have access to the Shares.
