Two-Step Verification (2SV)
Introduction
As part of our ongoing commitment to the highest level of data security, we have introduced Two-Step Verification (2SV) for External Share. This enhancement is a strategic step to stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats and to provide users with an additional layer of security.
Why have we introduced 2SV?
Our existing Identity and Access Management policies provide robust security measures. However, the implementation of 2SV introduces an additional layer of security. This feature secures user accounts and sensitive data even further, significantly minimizing the risk of unauthorized access.
What is Two-Step Verification?
Two-Step Verification is a security process that requires a second form of verification in addition to your usual login credentials. With 2SV enabled, accessing your External Share profile will require this second factor of authentication, thereby ensuring an elevated level of account security.
How does it work?
When you attempt to log in to your External Share profile using your username and password, you will be redirected to an Identity verification screen. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered email address. You will need to enter this OTP on the verification screen to access your profile.
Once you enter the correct OTP, your session will be activated, and you will gain access to your profile.
Use Case: Access Verification for Current Members
One particular scenario where 2SV is especially beneficial is when a user is no longer a member of a company or organization. Although they may attempt to access External Share, 2SV ensures they must first verify access to the company email. This feature provides an additional layer of security, confirming that only current organization members can access the necessary resources.
Conclusion
By implementing 2SV for External Share, we have reinforced our security infrastructure and reaffirmed our commitment to user data protection. If you have any further questions about 2SV, please reach out to our support team.
