Attachment Share
How to create Attachment Share link
By using External Share for Confluence, you can share attachments.Â
Click â–¼ button on Create External Share Link from your page, you will find Attachment option.
Configuration
General tab
In the General tab, you can customize the link name, add a description for internal use, and select the attachment view type. For example, the image below demonstrates how selecting all attachments on the page displays them in the link.
There are two types of view options available for attachments.
Single Attachment
By default, when creating a share link for an attachment, the first one from the list (sorted alphabetically) is selected. However, this can be changed by choosing a different attachment from the list. This single attachment is provided as a direct link, allowing for the immediate download of the file.
Attachments List
Alternatively, you can create a selected list of attachments that will be displayed on a dedicated page in either list view or gallery view. This option is ideal if you need to share more than one attachment at a time.
Security tab
The Security tab allows you to set options such as Expiration date and time, Password Protection, and Corporate SSO verification.
You can also generate a permalink for the attachments if you choose not to set an expiration date.
Selected Users
You can restrict access to specific email addresses or domains using the Selected User functionality. (An External User account is required for this feature.) When creating a link, only the specified addresses or domains will be permitted access.
For more details about the capabilities of external users, refer to the External User documentation.
Activity
You can view the activity on shared links to track engagement and access.
Attachment List View
Once an External Share Link is generated for sharing attachments, it will look similar to the screenshots below. By clicking the List or Gallery icons, you can customize how the attachments are displayed in the link.
